The UK will hold a road test with the wireless charging of electric cars

The State Agency for UK roads Highways England announced the preparation for testing of the wireless charging of electric vehicles across the roadway. Pre-feasibility study has been successfully completed and now the agency announced a tender procedure, which is open to for-profit companies.

Guide Highways England plans to close the tender and start testing the new technology in the years 2016-17 in the range research that It will be built and equipped near the start date of the test. The experiment will last for one and a half years before authorities decide on the possible use of this technology on public roads. The main drawback of this system is the cost of laying the electrical infrastructure and supply it with electricity, which would nullify all the economic benefits of electric vehicles. But critics recognize the advisability of such tests.
