In the first six months, Nissan became the best selling brand in Asia and Europe, bypassing Toyota . European sales of the brand increased thanks to the latest generation of the crossover Qashqai , which is most like the British, French and Germans. Toyota also suffered a decline in implementation, particularly in Germany – the largest European market. As they say, the demand weakened due to an aging model line.
Toyota has surpassed Japan as the Nissan’s best-selling in Europe in 1998, but Nissan has promised to regain the title. Its European sales have risen steadily over the past five years.
